What is Expected of the Staff

What is Expected of the Staff
After hearing requests from different players concerning a set of public guidelines staff must follow. I've posted an informal set of rules in the staff section but I shall tidy them and post them here for reference. Infringement of these rules may see the staff member lose their place on the staff list.
For now, the only way a player can get banned is for:
- Griefing in Creative world
- Using hack/cheat tools
- Openly using spambots
- Open usage of offensive and racially abusive after repeated warnings
What you can't get sanctioned for is griefing in the survival world as we already have self-service protection sponges. Any grief is at the owner's fault for not protecting it.
Excessive PvP is also allowed, since the outlaw system should already take care of people who mindlessly kill for no reason.
Griefing in Creative shouldn't be too prevalent, since all players have /region claim for areas up to 100x100x100. But if a user is griefed somehow, /tempban is encouraged.
Using these commands for any reason other than the appropriate ones mentioned above is strictly forbidden and should be reported by members of the community immediately to me.
I don't want to sanction any staff member frankly, and in order to have Riftland remain successful is to say no to admin abuse. It never really ends well for anyone involved; see Grim for instance.
As a member of staff, you are also expected to be helpful. This includes directing and answering newbies' questions or just directing them to the manual (when it is available obviously).
If you can't abide by the simple rules above, then you are not the type of person I am looking for in a staff member.
Remember to play fair, and have fun!
