sorry for not being online lately, been playing Oblivion, Star Wars: Empire at War, and i just recently fixed all my old game boy color Pokemon games, sooo... im pretty sure that explains it. Just wanted to clear that up.

Enlighten. Im all for map reset, i would just like to be able to make towns again when it is reset. also, i have a whole fort built of obby. can i haz compensation? just kidding.

what do you mean?
so you will have to join a faction and then you can donate to make a town/outpost for it?
or that you have the options to make a new faction or join one of the ''server factions'', but that wouldn't make sense.

Since the idea was mine originally I'll do my best to explain it. (I don't know how far the others have bastardized it.) The idea is upon joining the server you pick a faction. There will be two factions each specializing in either magic or tech. Each faction will have specific buffs. We will also come up with a story for each faction. Players can then build towns that will become part of their faction's nation sort of deal.

Please do NOT start that server-side factions thingy again..

and not to mention all of the problems with the mods when they get outdated, we will be stuck in older versions (and in some ''rare'' cases the plugin/mod development stops, forcing us to stay on current version or remove the mod) long after a new minecraft release.
This is a problem because it will prevent new players from joining, and current members might decide to leave riftland for another server when they notice the gap between each server update.

Another thing is how much time our vincy boy and the rest of the ''developers'' are able to put into this. Because as it is now (or was) magic was not of any great use since most of the spells where useless (especially the combat spells) and where no fun to use because of the long cooldown time. There was also no possible way to improve your magic, but archery, axe and sword where possible (mcmmo).

just knowing how much work that where put into this version of riftland, this mod pack will take longer than a month to get stable and ready.
