my future computer (maybe)
I have now in my whole life been using Laptops with mid to low spec to play my computer games and i am starting to get annoyed by the lack of power and i am now starting to crave more power to play on!
So i have been thinking about building my own computer something that i have never done before, and i am not that good at picking out parts to use but i think i got something working.
I would like to get your opinion about the setup

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Norwegian Fullversion
Keyboard: Logitech G510 (Norwegian)
Screen: Dell Ultrasharp U2713HM
Cabinet: Corsair Carbide 500R
SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 2TB
CPU cooler: NZXT HAVIK 140 CPU
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V PRO
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3-2000 12 GB (3x4GB)
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 670
Cooling pasta: Arctic Silver Arctic Silver 5

Re: my future computer (maybe)
Yeah, i'm buying really cheap pc parts but supposedly the parts i'm choosing i'll be able to run battlefield on mid-high settings. Only spending £300-£350 =)

thats not what im talking about
HDD usually lasts 3-5 years and it gets slower as you go along
idk about processor but if you raise your voltage too much its going to kill its lifespan by a few years

Re: my future computer (maybe)
i believe that's true about the HDD, but what other option do you got? SSD is too expensive and are not as big as i want them (2t).ItzDom wrote:

There is a reason why i am not going for the stock GPU fan and that's to lower the temperature when it's overclocked, if i'm able to keep the temperature low so don't i think overclocking are doing any major harm to it.

Overclocking does not harm your processor, raising the voltage of your processor does though
Also i was refering to you wanting your computer several years ahead :p

I am aware that if i want to keep it up to date so do i not have any other option than buying new parts. but i hope to be able to have it a good 4 to 5 years maybe.
btw, is it possible to use two 680 nvidia cards?

Depends what cpu you buy, your mobo has a 1155 slot for cpu so as long as the cpu u buy is 1155 then it should be fine.

Re: my future computer (maybe)
I was thinking if the current CPU would be a problem if i put two 680 cards into sli, not if i could change CPU or not (sory 4 mah Englis).ItzDom wrote:

Re: my future computer (maybe)
Noooo don't buy the death stalker! I just tested it yesterday at a shop and its keys are just baaaad (think of shittier laptop keys). Also I think you need more than a Ssd, get a hdd as well cuz 128 gb ain't gonna last u long.
