You wrote and asked why people like me want a pvp spinoff server for fun like once in a while. And why we dont change server. My awnser is simple i have been on This server for a long time and i have helped a bit to form IT. I know Red i knew him from when he was red i know elenrai i know dds they are geniuses and have formed My favourite server when craftland shut down i tried about 15 other servers but the community was so closed. Butiker look at riftland i know the community they know me (sometimes to well ) and that is why People like me never will Change server

Just because an idea is awesome doesn't mean it should be implemented. There are many reasons why your ideas should be implemented, but there are also equal or perhaps more reasons NOT to implement them. I myself is perfectly satisfied with how the current server is, albeit(truthfully) being a little bored with it, therefore i am looking forward to the upcoming BG(or tekkit or whatever) server. It is up to a server's dev to decide if he wants to do an overhaul of the server. Most we can do is suggest. But, you guys seem to be heating up a little too much to a little criticism(which the dev supports) to your idea. Be more open minded if you expect your ideas to go anywhere. And Elenrai, I respect you. I still do, but please, don't play ranks.

MOAR QUESTS for replayability, as for end game, maybe figure out a master boss that takes teamwork to kill as well as different types of combat to kill it

I'm not feeling like I'm anywhere near any sort of "endgame" situation. I still have my castle and town to complete. I am months away before I will achieve those.

Minecraft comes down to two simple elements, survival and building. Survival is easily conquered in the first few hours of gameplay as you build a shelter and establish a solid food supply. Building however never ends. As long as you are creative and have the motivation you will always have something to work on in Minecraft. If people are getting bored we need to focus on the survival aspect of the game. How can we extend it? What can we do to make it more difficult? Any mob strength buffs will push them over the top. They are already strong enough as it is. I honestly have no idea what we can do about this. Ideas? Very Happy

I agree with unholy as well... In my opinion I think that the basic aspect of minecraft has been lost... The "survive the night and hope for tomorrow" aspect.... Trivial things have been added which draw away from the building and survivaling. I don't think really needs to be and end game.

Dynamic events like in GW2. (Never played it anyway Razz)

All you need is a creative person that finds new events as much as possible so game won't get boring so fast.. And you need to trust that guy with spawning mobs and creative.

I think this is actually one major flaw in the game. The only time survival is actually a challenge (even then not really) is the very first day and night. What can we do to make it harder. (the key is to not make it frustrating such as heavily nerfing ore spawn). Is there anyway to make mobs more of a challenge without making them super OP?

If we were making an adventure map , I could make it harder as you progress. But no ideas about server..

The only way to make it harder is PvP.. Imagine it like DayZ/WarZ , zombies are not that hard after you get your weapons but what about other players ? Nobody would play DayZ/WarZ is there were no PvP.

But really yeah we should be a bit more pvp hadcore ness cause pvp acctually makes game hard and without that well...its just a game that you never die and almo...everyone finds those games pretty lame ass

Concerning the ore rarity idea, the latest patch has limited the survival world size to about 40kx256x40k. We'll be seeing ore shortages in a few months time, and things will get interesting.
