Quests
(On pool , you can multiple choose)
Like title says.. Adding daily/weekly/monthly quests should be good..
All quests are IRL time.

Like title says.. Adding daily/weekly/monthly quests should be good..
All quests are IRL time.
Daily Quests
- Spoiler:
These quests are easy to do and short but low on reward.
A player can take only 1 random daily quest per day.
Example quests :
Kill 50 zombies.
Gather 640 wood.
Kill 1 player.
Put 64 stone. (To prevent breaking and placing)
Example rewards :
3 iron
50 GP
Iron Sword/Pick/Axe (depends on quest)
(Randomly choose one)
Weekly quests
- Spoiler:
This quest give moderate rewards and take longer than daily quests.
A player can take only 1 weekly quest per week.
Example quests:
Gather 5 diamonds. (This depends on player)
Gather 256 iron. (This can be done in 1 day non-stop mining..)
Kill 1000 mobs/players.
Caught 150 fishes.
Example rewards:
1 diamond
250 GP
A chain armour gear.
(Randomly choose one)
Or this can be short dungeons..
Take a look at Monthly Quests for dungeons.
Monthly Quests

These can be dungeons. (I can build dungeons in case you don't have time and we can't randomize dungeons.. Or can we ?)
When player accept Monthly quest, his inventory will be saved. When player exit dungeon his reward and his inventory will be given to him.
There will be bookshelves in rooms.
He can see what to do or get a tip in this bookshelf.
Other players can not see each other in Single Dungeons.
But they can see each other in Co-op dungeons. (It needs 2 player to accept monthly quest)
These dungeons take about 20 minutes. When player dies, he lost the quest and can not back into dungeon.
Players can not use any commands (Like /kit).
Dungeons can be simply protected with WorldGuard.
Once dungeon complated, there will be a sign that give rewards and be locked once reward is claimed. On co-op dungeons, both players will be in seperate rooms.(I've seen this on some servers , but they set groups. We can use this to make player use /i command. But in a member group. Like they did to set group. Those signs have only [Command] on top layer. I guess it is Falsebook.)
Reward depend on dungeons.
But they will be.
5-10 diamonds.
500-1000 GP
A diamond armour gear.
A diamond tool set.
Or multiple rewards like 20 iron, 5 gold , 1 diamond and 200 GP.
Some extra ideas on Monthly quests that come after i write it is base :
Players can not hit each other. WG can disable PvP in dungeon zone.
Players can not join at dungeon in same time if it is impossible to make seperate mobs for players.
If a dungeon needs to place blocks , changes will be removed when player dies/complates mission.
On Co-Op missions, there will be 2 switches need to be flip to complate mission with another sign. So both players can get reward.
Or this can be same as weekly/daily quests but very hard to complate.

I believe I did tell someone else about this; quests would be too time-consuming to implement and I fear that even if I do, no one would do them.

It won't be a bad thing...if you are bored you can do them for fun...think like this...you are having fun and getting rewarded

Jobs were just a means of complaints on the Craftland server, if there was a roll-back and people lost job levels they would just spam the forums. Also it makes money much less valuable and therefore useless

No.. 5 iron per day won't ruin economy. Rather than give people to do something than waiting and leaving server.
Make your own topic for it.

Why would jobs be such a big deal out of all those..
But honestly Idc for jobs, I rather see effort go to fixing the XP on skills.

You were on the craftland server with jobs. It did ruin the iconomy as people suddenly had 5000gp more in a day from excavation then with that gained glowstone, soulsand etc which they then sold for a high price getting even more money, therefore ruins the iconomy making money worthless.Jonall wrote:Bubbading.

5 iron can be found in under 2 minutes therefore wouldn't ruin the server's iconomy.
If you played on craftland with the jobs, you would remember that they regularly reset and because of that people were having major temper tantrums on the forums because they lost their job level.

I do fully agree with this opinion as jobs was pain in the ass for the project manager and the server economy was ruined in several days. Also, if quests requires a lot of time and hard work to integrate, they are not worth it, as there are many other problems which require a huge amount of attention and work.

FFS! it's not the plugins fault that the server economy got ruined. it was because of the fact that the economy was not balanced by server owner.
i admit it was a total mess at craftland, but i hoped we could change it!
i am saying this because i know about other server making it possible without breaking the economy.
but i see that most of you are just negative about it and don't see the fun in it, so i guess it will not be added because of the little interest.

Jobs are never so good.
Even if it gives 0.1 GP , you got 1 GP per 100 blocks , with excavation skill, you will get pretty rich in 1 week. (You will make about 100.000 GP)
And when you level up , it gets scaled , so even if it gives 0.01 GP , it will be about 0.25 GP (or even more) in level 50.
Jobs are pretty unfair and i get to level 43 in 1 day.
Enough for Jobs anyway. Make topic for it.
Also , as this suggestion needs so much work and it have a medium change of waste of time , i guess it is enough for this topic.
Can any mod simply Lock/Delete this post ?
