Massive loss with new compact blocks

I'm not sure what happened but I was in the middle of crafting all my redstone dusts in to the new compact blocks and with a crafting table filled with 9 slots of 64 redstone each I clicked down until I was at about 50 in each slot and with the 13-14 compact as my cursor, the client froze.

After waiting for a bit and force-exiting the client, I reopened the client and logged in and my entire 9x50ish redstone dusts were gone, including the ones I had already crafted. I was expecting them to be laying on the ground, but they literally disappeared.

Any chance I can receive compensation for my 576 redstone dusts? :/
